About me — ♥

The slightly longer version.

I am not very good at reducing myself to a clean little paragraph, which is probably why this page exists.

The short version

I am a mechanical engineering student at Cornell, but that is not to say everything I make is mechanical. Some weeks I am modeling an electric vehicle chassis, and other weeks I am trying to work out why a card will not move correctly on a website. All of this to say, I like learning through actually making things.

What matters most to me is direction. Other people may get somewhere before I do, and sometimes I will take a fairly unnecessary detour, but the compass was invented before the clock. I would rather be moving toward something I care about than arrive quickly somewhere I do not.

Things I am into

General: Mechanical design, Robotics, Automotive stuff, Useful software, Philosophy, Photography, Running and soccer

Music: Gregory Alan Isakov, Bon Iver, Novo Amor

Questions: how people think, why systems work, and what makes something genuinely useful

Outside: running, soccer, photography, and noticing geometry where nobody intended to put it
